Along with other muralists such as Rivera, Orozco, and Siqueiros, represented the twentieth century in their native country of Mexico. After the Mexican Revolution, Tamayo devoted himself to creating a distinct identity in his work. He expressed what he envisioned as the traditional Mexico and eschewed the overt political art of such contemporaries as José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera, Oswaldo Guayasamin and David Alfaro Siqueiros. He disagreed with these muralists in their belief that the revolution was necessary for the future of Mexico but considered, instead, that the revolution would harm Mexico. For this he was criticized early in his career for connecting to the heritage of Mexico's past rather than depicting the future. But, by resisting the pressures of other prominent artist of the time, his career expanded to have a remarkable influence on his country and world of art. Tamayo went on to teach for many years at the Brooklyn Museum, exhibit in many prestigious galleries around the world and be displayed as part of some of the most highly acclaimed collections. Today his artworks can be seen in some of the world's most renowned museums, such as the: Guggenheim, Smithsonian, Art Institute of Chicago and his own museum in Mexico City.Beautiful Art Pieces for art connoisseur enthusiast to be proud of a great addition to his collection in a Close-Out Auction price.
