Description: This beautiful hand-painted wooden shield featuring an original design inspired by Viking shields of old. It features a heavy metal disc/boss in the center, and has stainless steel studs lining the border. Dual leather straps are used to secure the arm along the back—one going over the forearm and one intended to be gripped or held. An example of the straps and backside can be seen in the second photo. The shield is made out of a 1/2 inch thick smooth composite wood which is considerably stronger than plywood. The front of the shield has also been applied with several coats of topcoat/varnish to protect it through the years. It measures about 25 inches in diameter—more than enough to cover your arm way past the elbow. Whether for the wall or the battlefield, this shield is well balanced and ready to serve.
