Description: Rosenthal, Jacob & Co cir 1872 Pair of Large Crystal And English Sterling Perfume Bottles. Pair of Large spherical crystal was used to make the grandest of perfume bottles, hand-cut in the ever-popular hobnail design. The sterling silver collar cascades down the shoulders of the bottle with exquisite repousse decoration incorporating floral and foliate panels. The silver is hallmarked for the highly collectable Rosenthal, Jacob & Co and the year 1872. The large lid pulls off to reveal the original glass stopper to keep the precious contents safe within. About as good as they get in excellent condition measuring an impressive 4 1/2" in diameter x 6" tall. Founded in 1867 by Julius Loewe Rosenthan (or Judah Louis Rosenthal). He was in partnership with James Wiltshire unit 1877. In 1881 he was joined in partnership by Samuel Jacob and the firm was listed as Rosenthal, Jacob & Co until 1892. when he continued the business at 23 Southampton Street Fitzroy Square as Rosenthal & Co. The business was closed for bankruptcy in 1895
