The baker is suitable for use with electric or gas ovens and is easy to clean with hand washing only. Romertopf clay bakers were originally made by the Eduard Bay Company in Germany. Introduced in 1967, the German manufacturer sold the North American rights to RECo International in 1997. This company manufacted Romertopf caly bakers for sale the Canada and the US until closing its doors in 2013.
