Major G. P. FAWCETT bought the wristwatch on 15-10-51 from H. SENNA LTD JEWELLERS 44, HIGH STREET, RAFFLES HOTEL, SINGAPORE for his fiancee/wife. He paid 155$ on 16-10-51. $155.00 in 1951 had the same buying power as $1,423.53 in 2013, according to http://www.dollartimes.com/calculators/inflation.htm The wristwatch has the original invoice a guarantee. The guarantee is made for the same serial number as it is stamped to the back case of a wristwatch, No916424/750. The serial is written also on the invoice as you can see in photos. Condition The watch is in almost perfect shape mechanically, it is keeping good time. Cosmetically, it is in a good shape, the gold band has two columns on each side and one column the links detached. The inside chain which supports the gold links appears to be broken, maybe that is the reason that the links are detached at one column. I think it can easily be repaired at a professional jeweler. The crystal has a small chip, it can easily be repaired with a professional polishing. It has some scratches, but this is normal for a vintage wristwatch. It is a vintage wristwatch, not a new one.
