Description: Stunning 1960s National Silver Modernist teapot in burnt orange (light brown), designed by Robert Steven Witkoff in oblong form with sweeping lines, integrated handle and asymmetric placement of the lid. Teapot measures approx 9.5" x 6" x 5.5" LxWxH and holds approx 7 cups (56 oz). Made in Japan. Imprinted backstamp reads "Japan Design By Robert Steven Witkoff". Teapot is in excellent vintage condition without chips, cracks or crazing and only minimal signs of use or wear. There are a few very minor glaze imperfections. See pictures for overall condition and details. The teapot was produced in a number of earth tones. It is a striking example of mid-century minimalist design that marries form and function to arrive at an undeniably unique artistic viewpoint.
