I normally do it every day, and of course, I frequently go on more extensive explorations. I find that I am constantly surprised by what I see. This is because the natural world is dynamic and almost never identical visually even on two subsequent days. My surprises are usually modest; on a small and gentle scale. In fact,most of the little delights are a phenomenon that 99 people out of 100 would pass by without noticing. One such small scene is this one of the reeds. It was a still,dull day late in the year when most of the vegetation was dying. At that moment, a particular clump was a gloriousthing to me. Stateliness, dignity and tranquility are words that came to my mind when I paused beside the little pond.
