Description: Rickenbacker 4001 1973, MB. This means it was made in February 1973, which is the leftovers from 1972. It has the checkered binding. The set up is excellent. It was used for studio work only the pick guard has a piece missing from it, but I have an original 1973 Pick guard to go with it. The selector switch isn’t perfect, but I have a brand new one from Rickenbaker that goes with the bass. 80 years ago, someone replaced one of the tuners and I guess they put it upside down so it has two holes under the left side top which would be the D stream, but it has been fixed and it works perfectly. All the tuners are in great shape. I have the original case or you can have the gator caseit doesn’t matter which one you want the reason why I’m selling it is because I just don’t play it the trust rods work perfectly and there is no problem with the base other than what is described in above. Thanks for looking.
