I am adding pipes and accessories often. Estate pipes are soul touching, a very good personal object that has brought someone else hours of pleasure & relaxation. Now this one can be yours to experience its pleasure and after you it could bring someone else comfort. Any imperfections you may find are reminders of the prior owners. I strive to release the best product possible and sometimes I choose to leave as much original as sensible to retain maximum value. Sometimes that choice to leave an imperfection is purposeful as to not wipe away other aspects of the pipes original look. Stems can be a tricky thing. Some pipers think of themselves as collectors & want the original Stem. I try to provide the original stems, sometimes dents can be removed with heat & a little bit of pressure but often scratches or signs of use needs to be micro sanded out. For my personal pipes, I often microsand out little scratches or a little imperfection on the stem. But for the stems that I sell with the estate pipes, I do not sand estate pipe stems. The reasonn is simple. I have no idea if those stems have been sanded in the past and even a micro sanding could make that stem thin or fragile. Therefore, usually if the Stem has too many defects, I prefer to replace that stem. Note, stems are not easily replaced, each stem must be sized to the mortis in the shank, the same manufacturer, and the same model always have micrometer differences in the hole in the mortis. These differences come from vibrations, slight imperfections in lineup and human error. Therefore, it’s extremely seldom to be able to quickly. change to a replacement Stem. An original Stem often has signs of use prior. Usually, I provide the original Stem with the new Stem for those collectors that want that original Stem. My intent is to provide the absolute best pipe for smoking. I do not claim or make an effort to provide a museum quality restoration. I do try to return the pipe as it was originally released. Sometimes I change the color sometimes I change the stem. As I said, before, my intent is to release the nicest, looking most functional pipe for smoking tobacco . I have released pipes that I call better than originally released. This is because sometimes I change the nature of the chamber. Sometimes I widen the chamber opening. There have been times that I have drilled The draft hole to be a little larger and I often do change the stem. Therefore, my goal is not too precisely release pipes that are exactly as they were when they were sold, but rather provide the very best smokers that I can. The past is in these pipes and now this pipe is part of your story. Once purchased, please join us showing a photo of you enjoying your new pipe. Send your photo by an eBay message or post to Instagram, tag JMSportsPipes and include JMSportsPipes in the hash tags. One note about returns, the reason that I do not take returns has to do with health concerns. I sanitize these pipes and the stems. I have three methods that I use when cleaning pipsterilization I use at least two on every stem method one is submerse the stem and alcohol, this kills most things on the stem I also have a device that I put the stems in that bathes the stems in ultraviolet light for several minutes. This should get anything that’s left. Sometimes I use hydrogen peroxide, depending on the stem if it’s an acrylic hydrogen peroxide is a good option. If the stem is vulcanite H2O2 often increases the oxidation and I do not use that method. If a pipe is returned, my biggest concern is the fact I need to re-sterilize Stem, and often there are issues with pipes that are returned, requiring that I restore the entire pipe. Therefore returns cause additional work and expense on my part. Please review photographs carefully and ask your questions before purchase. I have been considering a policy for returns but there would be a restocking fee like 20% #JmSportsPipes. #estatepipes
