Description: "REPORTS ON THE TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSES OF JULY 29, 1878, AND JANUARY 11,1880" "Issued by the UNITED STATES NAVAL OBSERVATORY" Published/printed by the Government Printing Office. Only date stated is "1880" on bottom of the title page. On the top of the title page is "WASHINGTON OBSERVATIONS FOR 1876 - APPENDIX III" 12" tall black hardcover. Boards in poor condition. Top layer of spine appears to be missing. Front and back boards are almost detached. This book could benefit from rebinding. This book was presented to Covina R. R and Library Association by the U. S. Naval Observatory. Sticker on inside front cover along with a couple of numbers (see photo). One "plate" is detached and laid in. Otherwise the pages are pretty tight (the book will lay open). I've done a few "scans" through the book and the pages appear to be clean and unmarked except the end page where there is a drawing of the eclipse. 413 pages + sketches + plates. A large and heavy book. Given the age of the book, I would say the interior pages are in Fine condition. It's really the boards that have issues. The price of this book will include Priority USPS shipping and insurance. (ABE house 8/17)
