Replacement muffler bolts (Univent / Unifire chain saw)

Description: Quantity available will be updated at times, and more can be made available, but these bolts are expected to be sold in pairs. EXPERIMENTAL kit of two (2) replaces two (2) Univent/Unifire MB-SAW shoulder-bolts (110-mm shoulder-style, muffler bolts for Univent/Unifire saw, also offered as TMPMBSAW by Darley but no longer available, due to the closure of Unifire after sale to Mission and closure of Mission...). Experimental kit includes:two (2) type 304 stainless steel, socket-cap bolts, M6-1.0 x 120 mm (needs 5 mm Allen-style hex-wrench), pre-coated with temporary-thread-lock compound to reduce galling...four (4) type 304 stainless steel, bushings, ~25mm (L) x 6mm (ID) x 9mm (OD)two (2) type 304 stainless steel, compression springs, 50mm (L) x 9mm (OD) x 1mm (wire-dia.) four (4) type 304 stainless steel, M6 flat-washers (Initial kits may include more... We returned the prototyping saw to the fire department before the stock-list was completed and procured...)two (2) type 304 stainless steel, M6 lock-washersInstructions:Remove broken bolt and fragments, clean hole as possible of previous thread-lock compoundWipe surfaces clean of dirtReinstall mufflerInstall one bushing into muffler bolt-hole, where broken shoulder-bolt had been...Install compression springInstall second bushing (will overhang hole loose until protector plate installed)Repeat for other bolt (even if not broken, but keep it, just in case you need the real thing at some point...)Install one lock-washer and one flat-washer onto each bolt, trapping the lock-washer closest to the bolt-headInsert bolts into protector-plate from outer-side, trapping the flat-washer between the protector plate and the lock-washerInstall second flat-washer onto each bolt, on opposite/inner side of protective plateInstall bolts and protector plate (bolts already installed with washers through protector plate) through centers of outside bushings, spring, and inside bushing. (Bolts have been pre-coated with thread-lock compound to reduce galling and galvanic corrosion, where the threads are potentially corroded because of contact with different metal... This thread-lock compound is not expected to hold the bolts for this reason, so we added the lock-washers. Thread-lock compound should be cleaned and re-applied between uses, when bolt is removed and re-inserted after curing or extended use of the saw...)Gently start turning bolts into threads... (Don't force. If broken fragments left in hole, bolts may not finish at same depth--this should be apparent and needs to be corrected as possible.) If bolts do not tighten, add your own flat-washers until they do, keeping at least one between the bushing and inner-surface of the protector plate to reduce wear on the plate. (1/4" flat-washers will suffice.)Finish-torque bolts to 9-9.5 Nm. Maintain tightness before and after each use of the saw. (Bolt uses 5mm Allen-wrench.)
