This listing is for one Red Lake Currant Plant shipped bareroot while dormant.Second photo is an example of what the roots look like on these plants. Often folks use red currants in juices or preserves. I enjoy eating them fresh and also freezing them whole to use in my kefir or yogurt smoothie. I am also enjoying baking them into my Wholegrain Sourdough Bread. The lovely red fruit is very juicy and the flavor is very unique. This is how I would describe it: a bit tart, a little acidic, not sweet, and just having it's own unique flavor! Your soil and general environment could give them a slightly different flavor than mine. Photos are of my own Red Lake Currant bush, in my garden, the mother plant of those I am selling. These are rooted plants grown without sprays or synthetic fertilizers. These plants range in size from 5-12 inches in length. Some are branched. Others are single stemmed. I will be choosing the nicest ones first for shipping! I will ship them bareroot. That is, the soil will be removed at time of shipping. And the roots will be wrapped to keep them moist while traveling. They should be planted without delay as soon as you receive them!
