Description: RB 1787-5 AQUA MIDGET MASON'S PATENT NOV 30TH 1858 CRUDE TINY LETTERS FRUIT JAR Click images to enlarge Description Up for auction is this AWESOME TOUGH TO FIND CRUDE RB1787-5 AQUA MIDGET MASON'S PATENT NOV. 30TH 1858 UNUSUAL NICELY EMBOSSED TINY LETTERS FRUIT JAR, MOLD #413 WITH LUGGED LID. Strong and very small embossed lettering. MASON'S PATENT NOV 30TH 1858 The lettering in MASON'S leans left and both S's are serifed. No period after NOV MASON'S letters are about 5/16" high and the rest of letters are even smaller at about 1/4" high. The base is embossed with a mold number 413. Jar is in nice clean condition no cracks and no major chips there are a few manufacturer defects see pics, some normal roughness on ground lip, great embossing,some slight whittle crude with seed bubbles, some scratches, some manufacturing defects like a funky bubble on top lip running down jar about 3/4" see pics, also on bottom edge rear of jar and up to bottom edge side a tiny bit there is like chunky glass a little rough almost looks like it was also bumped but most likely from manufacturing process while being blown see pictures, Lugged lid is descent couple small splits, milk glass liner is cracked lid does have a bunch of patent dates on it. I did take a photo of this jar next to another midget with the normal size letters to show the difference that jar is not included. I did see one other 413 base of this jar and it was pretty crude as well. This is a nice example of this tough to find jar.This jar is straight out of my collection display cabinet and it displays super nicely and would make a great addition to your collection.
