Description: From the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and purchased in the 90s or earlier. It was still wrapped in the box when I took this series of photos. Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008) exhibited several times at the MCA, the first time in 1970. A multi-award winning painter and graphic artist, he also worked in photography, printmaking, papermaking and performance art. This mug us quite striking with red signature lettering on black. Never used.
