Description: Rauler Special - Mid 1970's Full Columbus Great condition , lack of BZ shifters & Brake cable guides point at 1976 )ish) No dents or dings - 2 coats of primer under paint white under the red rouge - Blue is vibrant - some wear as shown - near 50 year old frame Fork was painted over chrome - paint removed and fork is chromed but not polished throughout - #12 and Columbus insignia embossed on steerer tube The brand Rauler was founded by the brothers Raul and Reclus Gozzi in the 1970s. Its name Rauler is a mix of Raul's forename and the first letter of Reclus (Raul e Reclus)Another take on the name RAULER is reputed to be a combination of RAUL and "ER" (from Ernesto Colnago). The brothers were at some point contracted by Colnago to build frames under Ernesto’s marque until they parted ways in 1984. In fact they were also responsible for Colnago’s pantography and manufactured the intricate lugs for the Colnago Arabesque models.
