'Mario Lupo Opere recenti' (Mario Lupo Recent Works) for the solo exhibition at the Centro Culturale S.Bartolomeo in Bergamo - September 1985) It was also crucial to have met Egidio Costantini, the Master of 'Fucina degli Angeli', who also worked for Chagall, Mirò, Fontana and Picasso. He chose a group of young and old contemporary painters and included me among his colleagues. He made me go to the furnaces in Murano to have sculptures made of blown glass, all round, tiles and bas-reliefs. This was an excellent test, because I had to prepare watercolour drawings, which I then studied with father Egidio Costantini and his team of master glassmakers, to make the sculpture from these drawings. The contact, let's say, with these people and with the environment of the 'Fucina degli Angeli' was unforgettable. Creating a glass artwork is an enormous thrill because glass not only has a third dimension, which is that of sculpture, but also a charm of its own. It offers different reflections depending on the angle of the light.
