Description: RARE VTG Homer Laughlin Nautilus Coupe Soup Lug Cereal Bowl True Red Black Line Hard to find Nautilus Tab Handled Coup Soup / Lugged Cereal Bowl done in a white body with a true red and black striping of lines. The Nautilus hollowware is ornate with shell finials and handles and little scroll feet and the modeling of the line began in July 1935. Nautilus was offered in early 1936 and would continue to be produced into the mid to late 1950s. Reminder: this is a true red color treatment, not the "orange red" found on Fiesta. Both made in October of 1944 at the Newell plant per the marks on the bottom of H44 N8. Condition: Good to very good vintage condition. No cracks. A small chip on the outside rim of one bowl and a small chip on the inside rim of the other, does not distract. Some minor imperfections on the glaze from age / factory production such as sand bumps, glaze pops, skips, etc. Red & Black lines are clean, with some wear from use and handling. Has some utensil wear from use. All noted for accuracy. Very nice pieces that are hard to find in this treatment!
