THE DRESS IS MADE OF A BROWN, SILK-RAYON, (I THINK), FABRIC, IT IS FULLY LINED, HAS A BACK, METAL ZIPPER AND HOOK AND EYE AND HAS 2 BIRDS EMBROIDERED WITH GLASS BEADS AND SEQUINS. THERE IS NO SIZE TAG SO I AM INCLUDING THE MEASUREMENTS: BUST 40", WAIST 30", HIPS 42" AND FROM THE TOP OF THE SHOULDER TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DRESS IS 44". MY PICTURES DON'T DO THIS DRESS JUSTICE.A little info about Augustine, In 1957, at the request of Martine Carol, a French actress visiting for the filming of the film Stowaway , Augustine brought the traditional "missionary" dress up to date by embellishing it with lace and giving it the name "Pomare Dress" , with the authorization of the last Princess Pomare who is among her friends and clients. By wearing this barefoot dress to the July 14 ball, the beautiful actress relaunched her success with local women. A few years later, at the request of American tourists, Augustine created the "Purotu dress", a long outfit more fitted to the body and made with pareo fabric. The name of Augustine evokes for many women the memory of the belle époque, prosperous years when Papeete was the favored place for the governor's cocktails and large popular balls where each woman competed in coquetry with beautiful finery embellished with lace or embroidered with shells or glitter. For almost forty years, she was one of the most popular seamstresses on the island, to whom these ladies entrusted the making of a ball gown or their wedding dress, but also their happiness and their little worries. She also dresses the staff of the local inter-island airline, as well as the candidates for the Miss Tahiti and Miss Dragon elections.
