RARE Vintage Photos of 1935 British Mt. Everest Expedition

Description: These are 2 framed original photographs from the historic 1935 British Mount Everest reconnaissance expedition as a preliminary to an attempt on the summit of Mount Everest in 1936. Eric Shipton was appointed leader. There is a group photo, and a photo of a man in a pith helmet, drinking. There were 7 men on this trip (plus porters/ sherpas), so it’s a bit hard to tell who’s who in this shot, but I believe the 2 men in the center, in light colored sweaters are Shipton and Tilman, based on other pictures found online. The expedition members were: Eric Shipton. Bill Tilman. (Harold William Tilman) Michael Spender. Dan Bryant. (L. V. Bryant) Edmund Wigram. (E. H. L. Wigram) Edwin Kempson. Dr. Charles Warren. And according to some accounts, among the sherpas, (not in the photo), was Tenzing Norgay, who eventually accompanied Edmund Hillary in 1953. The picture of the singular man drinking, I believe to be Bill Tilman, based on other researched photos found, however, I CANNOT CONFIRM THAT. I do not know when these photographs were printed. Both appear to have been framed at a much later date, at least the 1970s. I took apart both frames to see if there was labeling of any kind. Unfortunately, both of the photos were dry-mounted to mat board, so no. On the group shot, there are some CREASES, a small very light stain, and I assume some curling at the time of framing, causing the need to mount them. There is a bit of dust in the printing. And, apparently, based on the only other image of this shot I found, there appears to be scratches in the original negative. I put the frames back together, of course.
