Description: T75c22For sale here is an original rare vintage lithographic school chart of MOLLUSCSpublished by Martinus Nijhoff in Holland around 1929-1960. The artist was Dr Paul Pfurtscheller (1955-1927) an Austrian zoologist, he produced a series of 39 zoological prints for use in higher education. This plate is number 8.It shows the members of the mollusc family including Gastropoda, cephalopods, and bivalvia.The off set lithographic technique of printing gives fantastic detail with sharp lines.It was an extremely time consuming method of printing, but the results are unbeatable. SIZE (approx)Width (including poles):146cm Length: 143cm(without poles 131 x 137) CONDITION Printed on 2 pieces of paper joined at the back and covered with linen it has black wooden poles top and bottom. This chart has spent most of its life rolled up in a school cupboard so the colours are still bright, this is in part due to the lithographic technique of printing, which allows for incredible depth of colour. Obviously these charts are not new so please check all photos before purchase. There may be wear that comes with age. The overall condition of this chart is excellent, there is a band of clear tape across the top (put on at or near to the time of production) that has yellowed slightly with age.
