Description: Very happy to offer this wonderful set of 3 rare unprinted Matson Cruise Lines menu cover lithographs created by the great artist Eugene Savage. My living estate sale is all about finding happy new homes for my collection, so I listen to all reasonable offers. These were gifted by an individual who worked for Matson in the late 40s and early 50s. I don't know their direct involvement with the S. S. Lurline on which these wonderful lithographs were used for the menu covers. The rare beauty is that they are unused originals that were kept out of menu production. They are, of course the original brilliant lithography artwork, and have the print stamped verso descriptions of the Hawaiian themed artistic content, but they are still the full sized 14" x 21" print sheets that were never trimmed to the 12" menu cover use after the determined cruise line menu for the year, or month, was added. So they maintain the full wider top and bottom margin borders. Moreso, they have never been folded for menu use. The 3 lithograph depictions of Hawaiian lifestyle and culture are: "Aloha.....Universal Word", "Pomp and Circumstance", and "Festival Of The Sea". I could write paragraphs about the history of the subject matter, the artist, and the cruise line, but if you are reading this listing I imagine you are well versed in that history, or will continue to research on your own. These are fine pieces. Quite rare as uncut sheets and highly collectable and valuable. Not to mention just plain brilliant artwork ready for proud display. As always I offer free shipping with protective packaging, a donation to a worthy charity, and I utilize the "Best Offer" format for all buyer considerations. Arthur
