Description: This is a rare set of 6 antique Royal Bonn Franz A. Mehlem hand painted floral gilt plates. The plates were made in Germany. They are multicolor - they have gold edges that gradually turn into beige or pinkish shade. The middle of each plate is decorated with hand painted flowers, perhaps cherries, stems and leaves. Each flower design is slightly different and richly outlined in gold paint, which raises above the surface of the plate. They plates are about 9" in diameter and weigh about 15 oz each (5 lb 7 oz total). They are in a very good condition but they are antique and as such they show signs of use - there is some loss of gilding around the edges (see photos). The colors of the plates are a bit deeper in real life than in the photos. These plates would make a wonderful addition to a collection of dinnerware and would look beautiful on any festive table.
