Description: Here is a Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Plain Teapot with Lid. This is a very rare, antique, museum quality piece. It is the same size and 'empire-style' shape as the later-numbered 1/254 teapot. The piece is factory first quality, made and hand painted in Denmark in the early 19th century. The pot and lid were both expertly painted by the same early painter with the signature '+' or 'x'. Overall the piece is in good condition with one chip on the base, inside the teapot where the lid rests. This is not visible when the lid is in place. There is a very small microchip on the lid. There is some wear to the surface of teapot base, some scratching and wear in the glaze. There are some irregularities in the glaze from factory production, and in the shape of the lid and base. The lid does not fit perfectly in place on the base. Please see final picture in particular. The teapot measures approximately 9 1/2 inches from handle to spout, and approximately 5 1/4 inches tall including its lid. Please examine the photos and reach out with any questions! Carefully packaged in non-smoking, no pets household, and shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
