Description: LARGE JAPANESE HAND CRAFTED RED CLAY POTTERY VASE LAMP The featured item represents a Japanese hand crafted pottery vase that measures approximately 15 1/4" tall, 3 5/8" across the top and 6 3/8" in diameter at the foot ring. It's a heavy piece, it weights about 10 pounds and 3 ounces. The vase was turned into a lamp and I can ship it with or without the hardware, electrical parts and the wooden stand. There is no shade. The vase is made of red clay and has a bulbous body that is raised on three applied feet shaped as ruyi head faces. The feet are resting on a round base. The middle of the body is decorated in relief with a dragon that has some of its parts covered by the clouds. The rest of the vase is decorated with key frets, flowers, geometric designs and other details. No marks, stamps or signatures found. I was also no able to find an identical or similar example. The item comes in overall good condition for its age with normal vintage wear like some scuffs, marks and scratches here and there. The interior may use some cleaning. Small chips around the drilled holes. There are some cracklines on the feet that are probably a result from the firing as they were hand applied. Other production flaws and imperfections due to the hand made nature. SOLD "AS IS"
