Description: postcard is partially attached to backing paper, partially covering area where stamp would be, that being said, I was able to see a partial mark from the azo company who makes the paper etc... their marking, with 4 triangles, upright, places this card from 1904-1918, the back of card displays the line divider in middle, making this post '07. the company used that mark up til '18. but I believe cards from 1915ish started using a white border? so this may date from '07-'15? I'm currently awaiting other info in regards to the motorcycle itself. hoping to make that date range a bit tighter! note: the driver is holding a 'providence' pennant, if this is in reference to Providence college of Rhode island, then that would date to 1917/18. it was founded in'17. so, the azo company stopped using their mark in 1918, so chances are, this may be a 1917 postcard! it came as is, framed and attached to the backing, which is just a thin piece of dark paper. I wanted to clean the glass in and out, that's why I originally took it apart. I decided it was best to just place it back into the frame, the glass was very dirty, so I'm glad I did that. the o.d. of the frame are approx 6.5 x 8.5 inches. and has 2 eye bolts in the rear with thick gauge wire to assist in hanging/displaying etc... this is a wicked cool & mega-awesome Indian collectible!!! as well as a highly sought after category of postcards! antique motorcycles in general are extremely collectible and sought after, still.
