Rare Flying Colors Christmas Themed Button Covers, Lot Of 4, NOS

Description: These fun and fabulous colorful Christmas themed button covers are not signed, but match components of other Flying Color items I have sold. They are handmade ceramic attached to clip-on button covers. There are four pieces in the lot. Each measures ~1.25”. All are in wonderful condition—they are new old stock. I have not found any others in my Google and eBay searches. These will certainly attract attention and can be worn with most outfits. The buttons on my display blouse are about 1.25”. I would suggest a 1” or smaller button. The blouse is not included in the sale😄. The original company, Parrot Pearls, was founded in 1975 in San Francisco. Their easily recognizable necklaces and pins are ceramic jewelry in fanciful shapes such as hearts, animals, flowers, strung along colorful bead chains. These were artisan companies with hand made, hand painted products. Parrot Pearls split off in the 1980's into Flying Colors (run by former Parrot Pearl employees) and into Ruby Z, owned by two of the original founders of PP, Bean Finneran and Candace Loheed. The Ruby Z, Flying Colors and Parrot Pearls were never mass produced and have been featured in collectors' books such as Ann Mitchell Pitman's "Inside the Jewelry Box, Vol. 2" (pages 7 -13) and Kathy Flood's "Warman's Jewelry Guide, 4th Ed."
