Description: Aut Viam Inveniam Aut FaciamLatin for "I will either find a way or make one." - Hannibal HISTORY OF CHALLENGE COINS "Coining" began in the ancient Roman army, where coins were presented as rewards. The U.S. tradtition goes back to the 1960s. A member of the 11th SFG overstamped old coins with a new emblem. The 10th SFG was the first to mint a custom coin, and remained the only Army unit with its own coin until the 1980s. Originally, the coins were given to recognize outstanding achievements. Now, they are now used to build unit morale and cohesion. During the Vietnam era, the "challenge-response" was added to the tradition. A soldier can be "challenged" to show his or her unit coin. Those who cannot, must "buy a round." Here is a Rare California Sheriff Department TCB Challenge Coin / Bottle Opener.Condition is New. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
