Description: Original mid-to-late-1880s "boudoir" (8.5" x 5.25") cabinet photo showing three members of the Honolulu Rifles, signed on the back. Photographed by J. Williams, Honolulu. The Honolulu Rifles were the name of two volunteer military companies of the Hawaiian Kingdom. There is another example of this photo in the Digital Archives of Hawaii (appears to be the original 10" x 8" glass negative), which identifies the men. They are: Left to right: J. L. Torbert, J. W. Pratt and Chas. T. Wilder.I can't make out the full signed name, but the inscription reads, in part: "With Aloha of J.W. Pratt, Capt. Co. "A". H.R". Photo is in overall Good antique condition with light mount wear and foxing. NOTE: The bottom-right corner has a significant crease that goes completely through. This photo should be handled with care and ideally repaired with archival tape to prevent this corner from snapping off completely. It will be packed carefully. Boxed shipping.
