Description: Vickie Smyers for Bethany Lowe; Teddy Bear Halloween Pumpkin Figure is a super rare and highly collectible piece perfect for any Halloween or Bear enthusiast. This charming figurine features a cute fabric tan bear, with an old fashioned look, leather patches on paws, made of tan batting over a resin body with black and white porcelain eyes, a clown looking neck ruffle and clown hat with puff balls and he's holding a resin painted jack-o-lantern with metal handle sewed on for trick for treating on Halloween. He looks like his costume for the night is to be a clown. This piece is Retired. Measurements: About 10 1/2" tall. Condition: Good to Excellent Preowned Condition - Only problem area is with his hat. In the back it is coming unglued at seam (prob. due to age), there is some "wear spots" on his hat where the black has come off and top back of hat is "bent". No tags, markings or original box. Crafted with mixed materials including paper mache and fabric. Part of the Vickie Smyers collection, this retired item is a must-have for fans of Bethany Lowe's unique and whimsical designs. A bit of research on Vickie Smyers: Vickie Smyers, the designer, is a self-taught artist with a deep passion for old toys and old holiday pieces. Growing up in Frankfurt, Ohio in an area originally known as Old Town, Vickie was always fascinated by old things – old houses, old furniture and old toys. She remembers some of the first old Santa figures she ever saw and feeling the strong connection they brought between the present and so many long-ago Christmases. Although she loved those old holiday gents, she really couldn’t afford them. Somewhere, in her later travels as a young woman, she picked up a magazine and read an article about sculpted German reproduction Santa's. Buoyed by this discovery she decided to try her hand at sculpting and make just one Santa. The rest is history; that was over 20 years ago, and there is always just one more Santa to be made!
