Description: Up for sale is this beautiful rare antique bronze figure of standing Buddha made in Rattanakosin style. Both the style and the posture are classic for the Rattanakosin period and style. The Rattanakosin kingdom is one of the most powerful kingdoms in the history of Siam. Unlike Sukothai and Lanna styles, which vanished, Rattanakosin style was the continuation of Ayutthaya style and quite different from other styles. The material of choice was bronze. Condition is good with the age appropriate wear to the gilding. Heavy item, please note the shipping costs. Age: we can't state the exact age of this statue but we have been told by the auction house in London that it is quite old, about 200-250 years, round late 18C / early 19C.
