Description: This Antique Staffordshire Soup Bowl/Plate depicts a scene with a windmill, sailboats and two figures, one on horseback. In the distance a bridge crosses to a waterside town. The decoration starts with the the tiny white x marks that run around the entire scalloped rim. The wide brim of the bowl is an intricate pattern of sinuous fine lines around an inner circle of delicate lace-like trim that frames the Arcadian landscape at center. The backstamp "Scroll" c.1830s is extremely rare.
