Description: Rare Antique and Vintage Minton "Minton's Rose" (Older, Smooth) A4807 Fine China Dinnerware. Pattern Description: Floral Swags, Smooth Edge, Red Trim, Older, Globe Backstamp. Discontinued. Actual: 1867 - ? Note that Newer versions of this pattern were also made with modern backstamps. Maker's marks and Dates of Production: Many pieces of this collection listed displays the "Revised basic printed Globe mark with Crown above" that was used from ca. 1873 until 1912; the word 'England' was added from 1891 on. In addition, there are a number of pieces that have the "New version of standard Minton Globe print mark with different crown and the globe now within laurel leaves and Est. 1793" and again "England" below; this newer globe mark was used on porcelain made between ca. 1912 and 1950. Finally, several pieces have impressed marks (or full set of three marks) that fit the pattern of the impressed Month/Potter/Year Cypher marks used from 1842 until 1942. In many cases, one or all three of the impressed marks are illegible; a few exceptions are one dinner plate with the Hatchet 1913 impressed stamp (with 1873-1912 printed mark), one dinner plate with the 1922 impressed stamp (with 1912-1950 printed mark) and one saucer (with the 1912-1950 printed mark) with an obvious "flower" impressed mark indicating the production year of 1915. See photos. Condition: Excellent Plus condition for the age of this fine china. The colors are bright and show very little wear. Most plates have light utensil marks and all pieces have light to moderate shelf wear. There are no chips, cracks or repairs, except one Bouillon Cup and one Salad Plate listed separately. There is light crazing on a few pieces, with no related staining or significant change in appearance. See photos.
