Robert Linzeler (1872-1941) set up his own business in 1897, at just 25 years old, buying Jules Piault's renowned silversmithing and jewelry business from his successors Leroy & Co. Linzeler registered his hallmark that same year. He exhibited at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris where his work was widely praised and earned him a gold medal. Linzeler also supplied important retailers such as Cartier. He quickly opened a second workshop at 9 rue d’Argenson and in 1920 opened a shop at number 4, rue de la Paix partnering with the Russian jeweler Marchak in 1922.
