Description: RARE Antique Continental Silver Gilt Hinged Oval Snuff Box Trinket Hinged lid trinket or snuff box Continental European silver possibly German Hand Chased and repousse throughout. Stunning details. Lid depicts classical scene of Knight soldier w carriage horses The bottom is marked in 2 areas. One appears to be German but cannot be sure and second is a star with much of the interior of star marking worn away from age and I cannot make it out. Several images are provided for your viewing. Measurements: Length 3” left to right, 2 ½” Width and 1” height. Because I don’t have a metals scale, I can tell you this item weighs approx. 2.4 ounces on a digital parcel scale. Buyer will be happy. It’s a stunning piece and the marking appears rare.
