Description: Darling late 1910s or 1920s brassiere (could also possibly be very early 1930s, though it seems too thin & unstructured for that to me). Made from peach satin with lace trim, pink ribbons, and a rosette. Would be a fantastic template piece for creating reproductions! Condition is stable but delicate; it would benefit greatly from gentle cleaning with a product like Engleside Products’ “Restoration” fabric restorer to lift age related dirt and discoloration. Some very small pinhole sized holes in certain areas and a small hole in one of the ribbon straps (please refer to photos!). Acquired from a deaccessioned museum collection and therefore labeled in some areas (please refer to photos!) Please note that I am not a historic textiles expert and am describing items to the best of my knowledge. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or think there is something I’ve overlooked! Measurements: Width: 28 inches (distance between bra clips) Length: ~5.5 inches (distance between lower hem and upper hem of bra cup)
