Description: An incredibly rare find. These are museum worthy for the history lesson alone. Keep in mind the time period these were made, when many 'roles' a person of colour were stereotypically accepted to things like musician/minstrel, caretaker, or servant - and when most depictions were almost always gaudy and offensive. These towels are true objects of their time. Set of 4. 100% linen. 21" x 33" Great vintage condition with one or two tiny marks. One brown line about 1" long on the grain. Not sure if this is a flaw, or original to fabric weave. I hope the future buyer respects and appreciates the history of this item.
