Description: This rare and beautiful bud vase came from a high end art collector's estate sale in the North Carolina area. Sally Bowen Prange Wainwright (1927-2007) hails from Indiana originally but did most of her studio art from the late 70s on in Durham, NC. Sally's work is highly collected and featured in many museums throughout the world, including the Smithsonian, the Auckland Art Museum, and museums in Italy, England & New York, among more. This vase features a thick porcelain base, with a soft matte glaze, featuring a drip glaze of blues and browns on the front. The ivory porcelain has some coloration changes throughout - I am not sure if this is due to age or as intended during production. According to research, the SP mark in a circle was used in the early 1980s. At this point, she had moved on from earthenware/stoneware to porcelain. Approximately 4.25" h x 3.8" w and weighs 1.0 lb Please let me know if you have any questions.
