Description: Very RARE 18" Cobalt and White Wheeler . . . "Double Radial" Light. Wired w/ High-Temp Wire & Ground Unique, "double radial" design with beautifully cast, iron top. This style of fixture is rare enough, but couple it with the still "rich and glassy" cobalt shade, and its beyond scarce. Iron tops like this one certainly survive; they're made to. This iron top still bears its proud "Wheeler Reflector Co." name and has what I believe are its original ceramic insulators. Topside . . . The cobalt is beyond compare; underside, it's still a brilliant white. There is an enduring reminder of this fixture's history: an edge dent left by a rather considerable impact. My camera has "amplified" the dent to the stature of "car crash," but it's far from as bad as it looks. I've included edge images and top and bottom photos to show the small area that was actually impacted. The original socket, with its exposed contacts, has been removed and replaced with a new, UL-listed socket, 50"+ of high- temperature wire and a solid ground lead. Fixture ships with a 10" down rod, an industrial quality swivel hanger, and an arcane, Benjamin ceiling plate w/natural patina (see photos). As a complimentary item, I'll include the long-necked vintage bulb I used while photographing this fixture; no guarantees it will work upon arrival, but I'll package it carefully . . . just like the light. Fixture may be partially disassembled to facilitate careful packaging and safe transit.
