Description: Rare 1700's French Double Bit Skeleton Key(A) Key Measures approx. 9 5/8" Long Rare key found in 1970's near the grottoes " des Echelles" (Saint-Christophe is a commune in the Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France) These grottoes were once used as a hideout from Louis Mandrin (1725-1755) - famous Captain General of France smugglers, and this is in the grotto "des Echelles" that he escaped from the king's soldiers. (Keys may have marks, scratches, dings, spotting, discoloration, or rust. Our keys range from 50 years to over 200 years old.
