Description: Rare early original vintage Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) of Ranger Texas. Dramatic view shows horses caked with mud as a hay wagon sinks into the mud. This is a vintage photograph and not a copy or reproduction. During the 1920s, Ranger, like nearby Cisco, Eastland, and Desdemona, was a petroleum boomtown. At the time, Ranger had railroad service through the since-defunct Wichita Falls, Ranger, and Fort Worth Railroad, acquired by the Wichita Falls and Southern Railroad, one of the properties of Frank Kell, Joseph A. Kemp, and later Orville Bullington of Wichita Falls, Texas. The Wichita Falls and Southern was abandoned in 1954. Real Photo Post Card measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and is in excellent condition with no bends, tears, or creases. Back has writing but no postmark.
