Our understanding in research is that Hookers Fruit was designed by William Hooker (1785-1865) who was a botanist and also an illustrator. The Horticultural Society commissioned him to paint fruit portraits in 1815 to authenticate different variety names. Featuring a stunning hookers fruit pattern in a glossy finish, 3 inches diameter and 3 1/2 inches height is perfect for all occasions. Made in England in what is believed to be pre 1990s timeframe of manufacture for this particular mug. After the 1990s the manufacture was other places.
