Originally introduced in 1988, the CE has become an essential part of the PRS line-up, offering the snap and response of bolt-on construction. The SE CE 24 Standard is the most affordable CE yet, pairing an all-mahogany body with a bolt-on scarfed wide thin maple neck. The mahogany body features a thin satin finish that results in a highly resonant instrument, and the maple neck’s semi-gloss finish provides a smooth playing feel. The guitar also features a 10-inch radius rosewood fretboard with 24 frets. This semi-hollow version adds natural resonance and a vibrant, organic tone. The humbuckers in this model are PRS 85/15 ‘S’ pickups, which can be tapped via the push and pull tone control for more sounds. The addition of the LR Baggs and PRS system furthers the instrument's versatility by offering electric and acoustic tones in one guitar. The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow is designed with two discrete volume controls (magnetics) and output jacks (mix and magnetics). Players can plug into the ‘Mix’ jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 85/15 ‘S’ pickups with acoustic tones. Alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the through an acoustic amp or DI into the soundboard. When using the magnetic output jack in isolation, the battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the battery has run out of juice). The PRS patented tremolo delivers tonal fidelity, player comfort, and tuning stability. Designed to PRS's specifications, the lightweight tuners provide precise tuning and won't dampen your tone.
