Pretty Snake Founded in 2009 by artist, designer and professor, Joseph Aaron Segal — when Segal is not involved with Pretty Snake he teaches textile design at Rhode Island School of Design. Pretty Snake’ guiding tenets were to have an ever evolving collection of a “Closet of Curiosities.” Segal designs all the prints, knits and other textiles for Pretty Snake. The entire product range is designed and many are created in their offices in Providence, Rhode Island. Listing Description Constructed of 100% crisp white linen, this shirt-dress’ A-line silhouette is a bit fuller at the waist and perfect for the warmer weather. Size small, details include; nine branded button front closure, straight point collar, bust darts, cap sleeves, front welt pockets, uneven side vents and a matching linen belt that passes through two belt loops at the sides for a more fitted appearance. The great conglomeration of imagery on this piece is by artist Julian Farmar-Bowles. The veritable encyclopædia of anomalies, odd creatures and equally odd botanicals depicted is on par with The Mütter Museum. Owls, unicorns, polycephalic (three-headed) snakes, albino rats, venus flytraps, mermaid skeletons, anglerfish, bleeding tooth mushrooms, polymelic (many-pawed) cat, splayed black crow, disembodied human hand with a severed finger, polycephalic (two-headed) lamb, vampire dentition, dismembered black serpent, human conjoined twin skeleton and finally a spiny porcupine fish. Pretty Snakes’ sizes differ from standard, the specifics for size small are as follows; Bust 34”-36” Waist 32”-34” Hip 36”-48” Dry clean or machine wash cold, gentle cycle, hang to dry or tumble dry low and remove promptly. Brand new in pristine condition with hang tags. Cardboard collar stiffener is still present as well. Flat measurements; 36” in overall length (mid shoulder seam to hem).
