Lee'' above Lee's drawing of a saddled horse that says ''I am Skewball Black.'' Jackson Martin (1874-1946), aka Jack H. Lee, was an early singer of authentic cowboy songs and one of the most popular early cowboy acts. It is purported that he joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show around 1893. By 1898, he was touring the vaudeville and rodeo circuits with his wife, billed as ''Powder River Jack and Pretty Kitty Lee.'' Their first recording was cut in November 1930 for RCA Victor.
