Description: Pottstown, PA CDV pretty woman w/ choker, white collar, by Isaac S. Lachman This woman is seated in an ornate chair, a calm expression on her face. She is wearing a dark dress with white collar, and has a cameo on a choker around her neck. Yellowing to image and card. Fading to image. Light soiling to card & image. On reverse is printed, in red ink inside an elaborate border: "Photographed ByIsaac S. LachmanMain St., opposite the Bank,Pottstown, PA." Isaac S. Lachman (1835-1901) appears as a photographer in Pottstown somewhere about 1870. He was the proprietor of Isaac S. Lachman & Son photo studio at 208 High Street. Card measures about 4 x 2.375 inches, photo is about 3.5 x 2.25 inches. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
