CAST includes James Franciscus, Vic Morrow, Micaela Pignatelli, Joshua Sinclair, Giancarlo Prete, Stefania Girolami Goodwin, Gian Marco Lari. BEHIND THE SCENES TRIVIA : When the film was acquired in March 1982 by Film Ventures International (FVI) for the U.S. release under its title "Great White", FVI president Edward L. Montoro put up nearly $4 million in prints and advertising for the film. At the National Association of Theater Owners convention in Las Vegas that year, Montoro had brought in lemon sharks that were set up in portable aquariums to promote the film. In addition, Montoro had also made special inflatable shark toys with "Great White" printed on the side as well as special pop up book materials. At the time of its U.S. release, "Great White" was FVI's widest national release and took in over $24 million in the first two weeks until Universal Pictures won the injunction to have the film pulled from domestic theatrical distribution. Shortly before the film's release, "Universal Pictures" sued the producers, claiming it plagiarized "Jaws (1975)," and the Australian distributors, for breach of copyright regarding Peter Benchley's book "Jaws." "Universal" won an injunction, and the film was pulled from theaters.
