Description: Postcard Swimming Pool McFerren Park Hoopeston IL C1941 As I was preparing this card to be listed I looked to see when it was postmarked. This postcard was postmarked on November 29, 1941, Little did the sender, recipient, or the young people in the photo know that in one short week their lives would be irrevocably changed. To me, this is an image of one those little moments of time that makes one truly sit and reflect. My father was a Marine in the Pacific and thankfully returned and led a full and happy life. I pray that all of those young men returned to their families safe and sound.
