Please excuse any glare in the photos. This dreamy painting on masonite board depicts a portrait of a woman. This tonalist piece has an overall warm, golden yellow tone, achieved by the use of translucent oil glazes over the surface of the board. The board measures approximately 15 7/8 inches by 11 15/16 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 7.0 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage oil paintings. Identification This painting was done by artist Guido Rossi. There is pencil writing on the back which I can not make out, but perhaps someone else can. I do not know whether the artist was American or Italian. I have owned this painting for around twenty-five years. I kept it for a long time because I thought it was competent work, but I was never able to find information about the artist. The exact age is not known, but it is vintage; it was already vintage when I acquired it. Condition This unframed painting looks good overall, as shown. The surface is textured with brush strokes and slightly raised dots of the ochre glaze/paint. There is light surface wear, edge wear from the previous framing, and corner wear to the board. As made, there are a few scattered bristles or fibers embedded in the paint. The back side is as shown.
