Description: The 944's came with manual steering, one year only, 1983. The original (35 years old=worn out!) racks are hard to find. Here is an all new, Manual Rack, rod ends, tie rods, boots, sector shaft. Clamps are supplied as in the photo. It is imperative for me to know if your car is 1986 or earlier, or 1987 and later to the 968. There is a 3" difference in the end to end length on the racks. 51 1/2" vs 54 1/2".LHD available. See my other listings. This will be the last rack you install in your 944-968-951. No more leaks! It is greased for life. Plus you get rid of a huge amount on parasitic junk. I used to scrape off the power steering pump, loading on the trailer at race days. Who needs that sh!t. This kit is suited to street use. And track if you choose. Disabling a power rack is not safe and causes vagueness in the steering. Let alone Charles Atlas arms to steer at low speeds. If you need a race only set up, contact me I can do that too. This kit has a "ratio" of 3 1/2 turns = 131 mm Your power rack is 143 mm = 3 1/2 turns
