This camera is hard to find in excess amounts on the market and is priced very high for only the camera. Comes with extra lens and disks. Overall the camera has been very sought after for more of a novelty and collectors price although it seems to promote amazing pictures and is an interesting thing to use. MORE ABOUT THE CAMERA: The camera was hand-made in Cambridge Massachussetts in 1996, and has a magnesium alloy shell with a textured black finish reminiscent of high end DSLR's. It takes 4 AA's and feels exceptionally heavy in the hand. It has no display to show stored images, only a passive optical viewfinder and a small LCD on top to show battery status, number of photos stored on disk, and a few other statuses. The camera has a non-removable 40 megabyte spinning hard disk inside which allows for storage of 40 images! It takes about 4 seconds after hitting the shutter for the photo to save to the disk. It is completely automatic. There is no adjustment for focus, ISO, aperture, etc. There are a few options for white balance. The 60mm fixed lens on the front is interchangebale with an optional 35mm equivalent! In order to actually focus the image, the camera doesn't move any lens elements, it moves THE ENTIRE IMAGE SENSOR forward and backward. The camera connects via an SCSI interface with a proprietary cable. The Polaroid software is pretty simple, allowing you to download and delete photos from the camera. It also handles interpolation of the native 600x800 resolution of the camera sensor to a full resolution of 1200x1600The photos come right off the camera looking remarkably like a Polaroid instant picture. There is no additional editing or tweaking done to any of the pictures shown!
